1. Data we collect

• Account: name, username, email, password (hashed with bcrypt) and optional profile picture.
• Content: videos, transcriptions, structured descriptions (citable layer), tags and links you publish.
• Interactions: likes, comments, follows, views and reports.
• Citability analytics: citability score, LLM citation events, referers and link clicks.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps (for security and service improvement).

2. How we use your data

• Operate the platform: authentication, public profile, feed and search.
• Calculate and display the citability score for each publication.
• Expose the citable layer (transcription, JSON-LD, structured description) to crawlers, AI engines and LLM assistants so they can cite your content.
• Send relevant notifications (detected citations, interactions, weekly digest).
• Moderate content and enforce the Community Guidelines.
• Improve the service through aggregated, anonymous analytics.

3. The citable layer and LLMs

When you publish on OrionReel, your content includes a structured layer (transcription, offers, audience, problem, JSON-LD) that is read by large language models (LLMs), crawlers and AI assistants. This is the core purpose of the product: making you citable by artificial intelligence. You control what is exposed by editing your citable layer before publishing.

4. Who we share data with

• Publicly: your profile, username, videos, citable layer and citability score are public by design.
• Providers: we use hosting, video storage and email services. These providers process data solely on our behalf.
• Authorities: when required by law.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

5. Security

Passwords are stored with bcrypt hashing (12 rounds). Sessions use signed tokens (JWT). Database access is restricted and encrypted in transit.

6. Your rights

• Access: you can view all your data from your profile and Studio.
• Correction: you can edit your profile and citable layer at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete your content. To delete your account entirely, contact us.
• Portability: your citable layer is available in standard JSON-LD and plain text from each video page.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sessions (authentication) and preferences. We do not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with the update date. If they are significant, we will notify you by email.
