We shipped an AI feature that drafted replies automatically, and adoption was terrible. Users did not trust a black box writing on their behalf. We changed one thing: the AI proposes, the human approves with one click, and every proposal shows the source it pulled from. Adoption went from twelve percent to fifty four. The work the AI does did not change. What changed is that people could see the reasoning and stay in control. Trust is not built by making the AI more confident. It is built by making it more transparent. Show your sources, keep a human on the button, and automation stops feeling like a threat.
